Still Alice‘s Julianne Moore won the Independent Spirit Award for the best female lead.
“We made this movie in 23 days for $4 million. I brought my own bras and my own food. I begged Alec Baldwin to do it,” Moore said.
She is also nominated for best actress for the film, in which she plays a woman suffering from Alzheimer’s.
Moore beat out fellow nominees Marion Cotillard, Rinko Kikuchi Kumiko, Jenny Slate and Tilda Swinton to take home the honor.
The Independent Spirit Awards honors exclusively independent films, bringing together top Hollywood talent and independent filmmakers. Fred Armisen and Kristen Bell are co-hosting the 30th annual Film Independent Spirit Awards, which is being broadcast live on IFC.
