Disney XD has released the first seven minutes from the premiere of its forthcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels.
The series launches with an hourlong episode on the Disney Channel in October, with the series then airing on Disney XD.

Star Wars Rebels is set five years prior to the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and centers on a group of rebels who man a starship called Ghost.
In the preview clip, the Empire has imposed tyranny on the citizens of Lothal as Imperial Stormtroopers pervade the planet. A boy named Ezra ends up as the target of both Imperial and rebel forces when he swipes the Empire’s precious cargo.

The series was created by screenwriter Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Mr. & Mrs. Smith). It features voice work by Freddie Prinze Jr., Steve Blum, Vanessa Marshall, David Oyelowo and Jason Isaacs.
