Elle Fanning Rodarte Critics' Choice Movie Awards - P 2012
Getty ImagesElle Fanning and Kirsten Dunst hit the Chateau Marmont Jan. 17 for a dinner honoring high-end label Rodarte. The We Bought A Zoo Star (in an embroidered, off-the-shoulder dress) hosted the intimate dinner along with Van Cleef & Arpels. Fanning and the Melancholia star, who chose yellow printed pants, a sunny blazer and a white button down blouse for the soiree, mingled with Sophia Coppola and Lisa Love.

Sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy, who founded the line together, have made an impression and not just for their runway looks (fans include Emma Watson, Keira Knightley and Rooney Mara). The two created the incredibly intricate black swan costume that Natalie Portman wore in the 2010 film. Portman was so taken by the Mulleavy’s talent, that she commissioned them to design her pink and red gown for the 2011 Academy Awards.

The sisters cite film as heavy influence for their designs, and their creations from Darren Aronofsky’s dark thriller made an appearance during a solo exhibit at the MOCA in March 2011. In addition, the line’s more fashion-forward runway looks are part of the RODARTE: Fra Angelico collection in the LACMAs Italian Renaissance gallery (the exhibit can be seen until Feb. 5).
While Fanning and Dunst were decked in the label’s Spring/Summer 2012 runway collection, the design house has also created more affordable looks for both Gap and Target.
