Everyone wants Stephen Hawking’s endorsement this year.
The team behind The Theory of Everything, which recounts his life story,hasn’t missed an opportunity to mention that a single tear was wiped from his eye upon seeing their film. In early November, Hawking attended an Interstellar screening, after which Oscar hopefuls Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain posed for pictures with him.

Now The Imitation Game — which stars Benedict Cumberbatch, an Oscar rival to Theory’s Eddie Redmayne — may get Hawking’s attention: The physicist is said to be very fond of Cumberbatch’s portrayal of him in a 2004 TV film and curious to see his latest work.
