There are plenty of reasons to cringe while watching a beauty pageant, but, in an odd twist of fate, it wasn’t a contestant who had us squirming in empathetic embarrassment during Sunday’s Miss Universe Pageant.

Now, now, we know what you’re thinking: How will this gaffe affect Harvey’s eponymous sportswear line, which is sold at the likes of Kohl’s and Upscale Menswear? Where else will one be able to find a reasonably priced pant set or a knit shirt, which is advertised as “a ‘Honey, I love it’ sure thing”?
Well, according to a press release from World Marketing, Harvey’s licensing partner, the brand is doing just fine, thank you very much.

“Major retailers have called to express support for the brand, realizing that Steve made a mistake, and expect the sportswear collection to do very well at retail,” said Neil Mossberg, CEO of World Marketing. “We stand with Steve and feel for him. He made a human error. He has apologized and asked for forgiveness.”
So, to answer the burning question on everyone’s mind: Harvey’s line will survive this tumultuous time. Harvey’s career as a television host? That’s another story.
