Burberry and Coach Might Be Considering a Merger [Business of Fashion]
Blog Betaville reported that Coach might be considering a merger with Burberry. Following the news, shares for Burberry rose 4.8 percent. The American and British brands do have a similar aesthetic, and Luca Solca, head of luxury goods at Exane BNP Paribas, told BoF that Burberry could be considered “the British Coach.” While Burberry has been struggling in recent months (thanks in part to Brexit, among other factors), Coach has been on an upswing. After a few years, the brand’s turnaround strategy has finally begun to pay off. Both Burberry and Coach declined to comment on the news.
