Tom Ford is taking his spring 2016 presentation from the runway to the small screen with a steamy new short fashion film which will premiere tomorrow, Oct. 2, on the brand’s website. The film stars some of the designer’s favorite muses, including Lexi Boling, Xiao Wen Ju and Valery Kaufman. [TomFord.com]
It looks like Apple has realized that smart watches aren’t for everybody. On Thursday, the tech giant filed a patent for a “ring computing device,” which, for all intents and purposes, appears to be an early form of what could be the Apple Ring. The device features a touch screen as well as a computer processor and wireless receiver, so basically you’ll never have an excuse to let an email go unanswered ever again. Neiman Marcus laid off 500 employees on Thursday in keeping with the company’s reorganization plans. CEO Karen Katz remarked that the layoffs were part of a corporate streamlining process and an attempt to make the back-office processes more efficient. No customer-facing roles were affected in the cuts. The reduction comes just a week after the company’s planned IPO has been put on hold. [WWD]
