The Hollywood Reporter is expanding its presence at the Sundance Film Festival in a big way.
THR will be the official industry media partner of Sundance beginning in 2015, replacing previous sponsor Entertainment Weekly. The collaboration with the Sundance Institute extends through 2017 and will give THR access to festival activities, promotional opportunities and brand tie-ins.

“The Sundance Film Festival is one of the world’s most influential festivals, breaking out new talent, defining careers and setting the standard for what’s important each year in Hollywood,” said Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group. “As the official industry publication of the Sundance Film Festival, The Hollywood Reporter will offer even more unprecedented coverage and access to our readers while at the same time multiplying our presence at the festival.”

As a media sponsor, THR will play a central role at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival with exclusivity as the official industry publication, elevated brand presence and an unparalleled level of insider access. Additionally, the Sundance Institute and THR will collaborate on unique content-driven opportunities and events. THR has long hosted a newsroom at the festival, presented an eclectic mix of events and provided reviews of every movie by the THR critic team led by Todd McCarthy.

The news comes on the heels of THR’s relaunching its website amid record-breaking traffic. The updated design and advanced mobile/tablet experience came as the leading entertainment outlet recently hit a record-breaking 17 million monthly unique visitors, according to comScore.
Last month, THR won 14 awards, including best entertainment publication and best website, at the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards. Other recent accolades include an Emmy win for The Hollywood Reporter in Focus: The Wolf of Wall Street.
