Relativity Media is taking Act of Valor, its upcoming action thriller about the Navy SEALS, to the Super Bowl.
The film distributor said Tuesday that it has booked four, 30-second commercial spots in and around Super Bowl XLVI, which takes place Feb. 5.
Valor stars an actual group of Navy SEALS in a fictional story drawn from real events. It is produced and directed by former Baja 1000 champion Mike “Mouse” McCoy and former stuntman Scott Waugh, through their Bandito Brothers production company, and written by Kurt Johnstad (300). The movie opens Feb. 24.

Two of the Valor commercials will air during the pre-game, one spot will run during during the game’s fourth quarter, and the final one will appear during the post-game show.
“Not only is Act of Valor an incredibly entertaining action film, but it is a true testament to the heroism and sacrifice that makes America great. What better place to feature a spot for this movie than on the Super Bowl, which is one of our country’s biggest events,” Terry Curtin, Relativity’s prresident, theatrical marketing, said.
Last year, Relativity promoted the movie Limitless during Super Bowl XLV, and that film went on to bow in the number one slot at the box office when it opened March 18.
