The Audience Awards for the South by Southwest Film Festival were announced Saturday, with Transpecos taking the narrative feature prize and Tower earning the doc feature prize.
Tower was previously awarded the grand jury prize for doc feature. The Grand Jury Awards were announced Tuesday.
Jean-Marc Vallée’s Demolition, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, earned the Audience Award for Headliners, while From Nowhere earned the Narrative Spotlight honor.
The Austin-based film, music and interactive festival included 143 features, consisting of 89 world premieres, 12 North American premieres and eight U.S. premieres, with 52 first-time filmmakers. Films showed through Saturday.
