The shake-up at Syfy continues.
Senior vp alternative programming Tim Krubsack is exiting the NBCUniversal-owned cable network, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The executive, who was promoted in July 2010, was responsible for overseeing development of Syfy’s unscripted reality programming, including Face Off and Ghost Hunters.
Krubsack’s departure comes three months after Bill McGoldrick was installed to replace Mark Stern as exec vp original content. For his part, Stern — after an 11-year run at the top of Syfy’s originals department — will become an EP for a new Syfy series set to bow this year.
Syfy in November also continued its reorganization; Syfy Films senior vp Gregory Noveck and director of development Joshua Banta exited the company.

“After much consideration, I have decided to step down as Syfy’s head of unscripted development to pursue other opportunities,” Krubsack told THR in a statement. “I am very proud of what my team and I have accomplished here, and now is the time for me to explore all the options that exist in the ever-growing unscripted arena. I look forward to the many great shows that will continue to come from Syfy.”
Since joining Syfy in May 2008, Krubsack expanded the network’s unscripted offerings to include Heroes of Cosplay, Opposite Worlds and more.

“We would like to thank Tim for his many contributions to Syfy’s unscripted successes including top-rated Face Off, the innovative social experiment Opposite Worlds, the buzz-generating Heroes of Cosplay, and stalwarts such as Ghost Hunters and Paranormal Witness,” Syfy exec vp original content McGoldrick said in a statement to THR. “Tim also leaves us with an exceptionally strong development slate that will take Syfy to its next stage of unscripted programming. Tim is an incredibly hard-working executive whose strong production background allowed Syfy to program a wide variety of boundary-pushing nonscripted series, and we wish great things for him in the next chapter of his career.”
A search is underway for Krubsack’s replacement.
