Real-life hackers will soon be making their way to TV.
SyFy and Relativity Television said on Monday that they are teaming on a new unscripted series revolving around the exploits of hackers “who turned entire industries upside down.”
Tom Forman and Brad Bishop are set as executive producers of the show, titled Hackers.
The news of a series development arrives as real-life cyberattacks — notably, the damaging hack of Sony Pictures Entertainment beginning on Nov. 24 — have dominated headlines over the holidays.
The Syfy series will include profiles of the hackers along with reveals of “how they committed the crime, from trolling the Internet to rooting out vulnerabilities inside the company websites,” the network said in a press release.
