Frank Stallone didn’t hold back his feelings Monday morning about his older bother’s Oscar snub on Sunday.
Stallone was favored to win the award for once again playing the iconic Rocky Balboa in Creed. Both The Hollywood Reporter‘s awards analyst Scott Feinberg and chief film critic Todd McCarthy picked Sly as the person who would and should win.
Sly had won numerous awards, including a Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice award, for the role up until that point, 39 years after being nominated for best lead actor for his playing the same character in Rocky.
But he didn’t win Sunday.
Instead, 56-year-old legendary actor Mark Rylance won for Steven Spielberg’s Bridge Of Spies.
Frank was not impressed.
“The Academy should be ashamed of themselves. It’s as clear as the nose on your face that Sly won. Mark who? It’s total Hollywood bullshit,” Frank tweeted.

Sly addressed the snub a few hours later, also over social media. His message was somewhat more classy than his brother’s tweet.
“To all the “real Rocky’s” of the world, Please hang on to your dreams, NEVER GIVE IN , NEVER GIVE OUT , NEVER GIVE UP! thanks for the support,” Sly wrote.
