TORONTO – Tatiana Maslany, the Sundance 2010 special jury prize winner for her breakout performance in Grown Up Movie Star, is top-lining the Canadian indie Picture Day for Snitch Pictures.
Maslany plays a senior high school student who falls in love with an ageing rock star, while making friends with a nerdy freshman.
Kate Mellville’s directorial debut also stars Spencer Van Wyck, Susan Coyne and Steven McCarthy.
Maslany’s recent credits include the Rachel McAdams-starrer The Vow and Violet & Daisy, opposite Saoirse Ronan and Alexis Bledel.
Director Melville is best known for her TV writing, where her Canadian credits include Endgame, Being Erica and Regenesis.
Picture Day, shooting through October in Toronto, is executive produced by Daniel Iron (The Bang Bang Club).
