TBS is banking on Vince Vaughn‘s brand of comedy.
The Turner-owned cable network has ordered a comedy pilot of Sullivan and Son, a half-hour project starring comedian Steve Byrne. The comedy, which is expected to begin shooting later this year, centers on the legendary Pittsburgh bar, which serves as the unofficial “town hall” of the working-class neighborhood.
In this case, Steve Sullivan (Byrne) is the son of the current bar owner and the grandson of its founder who leaves his successful corporate attorney gig in New York to take over Sullivan & Son. The series chronicles his attempt to find a more rewarding life behind the bar.
Byrne is set to pen the project, which will count Rob Long (Cheers) as showrunner. Vaughn and Peter Billingsley (Iron Man) will join Long as executive producers on the project, which hails from Vaughn’s Wild West Picture Show Productions and Warner Horizon Television.
