NBC Universal’s Telemundo Media announced Thursday that it will soon start the casting for their its reality singing competition La Voz Kids (The Voice Kids). The show, the first singing competition aimed specifically at kids, is casting children between seven and 14 in nine different U.S. cities, including New York and Los Angeles. The first casting starts in early January in Miami.

The show will follow the same format of its successful parent The Voice with blind auditions, battle rounds and live shows. The three judges have yet to be announced for the show, which will give viewers a look at how the talent of the future is discovered and developed by celebrity experts.
The winner will receive a recording contract with Universal Music and a scholarship.
La Voz Kids is slated to air on the Telemundo network in the spring.
