Fashion photographer Terry Richardson has been accused of engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct for several years now, and on Sunday, he allegedly offered a Vogue shoot in exchange for sex to British model Emma Appleton.
Appleton posted on Instagram a screenshot of the text message from Richardson, which read, “If I can f–k you I will book you in NY for a shoot for Vogue,” reports Gawker. The post has been removed and her Twitter account has since been shut down.
In a statement from Richardson’s rep to Buzzfeed’s Kate Aurthur, she tweeted that his rep denies that the text was from the photographer. Richardson’s rep stated: “This is obviously a fake. Terry did not send this text.”
Hildy Kuryk, the director of communications for Vogue, also responded to the situation in an email, saying that Richardson’s last work “for U.S. Vogue appeared in the July 2010 issue, and we have no plans to work with him in the future.”
In March, the controversial photographer allegedly assaulted a 19-year-old model named Charlotte Waters, who took to Reddit to share her traumatizing experience of working with Richardson. The post has since been removed, but Waters accused him of forcing her to engage in uncomfortable sexual positions and said, “He also straddled me and started jerking off on my face.”
Despite these allegations, Richardson still somehow manages to work with supermodels Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne, as well as Lea Michele, Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus, as showcased on his own Instagram account.
