Tiffany Haddish, who broke out this summer with the Will Packer-produced comedy Girls Trip, has booked roles in two upcoming features: The Kitchen and The Temp.
The Kitchen, based on the Vertigo comic book series of the same name, is set in Hell’s Kitchen in the 1970s and follows the wives of Irish mobsters who take over their husband’s businesses after they are arrested by the FBI. The New Line feature will be the directorial debut of screenwriter Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton) and has Michael De Luca attached to produce.
The Temp will reunite Haddish with Packer, who is producing the Universal female-fronted comedy from Dana Fox. Haddish will executive produce the project.
Haddish, who just made history as the first black female comedian to host Saturday Night Live, is set to reteam with Girls Trip director Malcolm D. Lee for the Kevin Hart-fronted Night School. She also will star opposite Tracy Morgan in the upcoming TBS series The Last O.G.
Haddish is repped by APA, Principato-Young and Del Shaw.
