Tina Fey found a “special” way to pay tribute to David Letterman.
Poking fun at February’s #TheDress debate on social media, the actress wore a blue and black (or is it white and gold?) dress for her final appearance opposite the departing Late Show host, because “I’m never gonna wear a fancy dress on a talk show again, because it’s very hard work. I don’t know if you’re aware of the contraptions that’s under here. It’s almost medical.”

“I dress up like this out of respect for you,” she continued. “What, am I gonna put on a dress for Jimmy [Fallon]? That’s creepy, he’s like my brother! Am I gonna wear special underwear for James Corden? That’s not gonna happen.”
So in honor of her final Letterman Late Show appearance, “and conforming to gender norms out of respect for you,” she gifted him with the dress, live, revealing her nude and black “special underwear” that read “Bye Dave!” and “#LastDressEver.”
Watch her big reveal below.
She also gave him advice on ending a show, after her 30 Rock experience. “All the things that you got out of doing because you were working are going to haunt you,” she warned of parent-teacher conferences, weddings and gala appearances in New York City. “If you get anything that says ‘gala’ on it, drink contact lens fluid — anything to get yourself in the hospital.”

Which is the one she’ll avoid at all costs? The Met Gala, which she attended last year. “It is such a jerk parade. … Clearly I’ll never go again. It’s just every jerk from every walk of life, wearing some stupid thing. … Clearly, I was one of them.” Beware of fart clouds and CEOs on ecstasy.
