The TomKat Project, a fringe-theater comedic play well received in its original Chicago run this year, is gunning to meet its $15,000 Kickstarter goal to play the iO West Theater in Hollywood.
“We’ll only be 338 feet from a Church of Scientology building,” says producer Dein Sofley.

The two-act’s script weaves verbatim interview material with imagined scenes to summon the saga of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Bert Fields, Paula Wagner and couch-jumping witness Oprah Winfrey all appear as supporting players.
Says Sofley, “Our biggest concern is that the church might catch wind of [the production] and purchase all of the tickets so that there would be no seats.”
