Forget frostbite this February.
Next season, Tommy Hilfiger will show the second installment of the Tommy x Gigi label he launched last fall with supermodel Gigi Hadid in sunny Southern California instead of New York City. The “experiential consumer fashion show” will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 5 p.m. — just a day before the New York Fashion Week calendar kicks off.

Like the designer’s “Tommy Pier” setup in September, the show will be more of an all-out extravaganza happening on the Venice Beach boardwalk in front of 3,000 guests, including influencers, press and buyers, as well as consumers. Whether or not this “experience” also will include an onsite Ferris wheel or tattoo booth has yet to be divulged; however, we have no doubt that the front row will likely have plenty of star power from Hadid’s Los Angeles-based besties.
“The casual, cool, chic look that is leading the fashion world this season was born and bred in L.A., and I knew this show would feel at home on Venice Beach,” Hilfiger said Thursday in a release. “The spring 2017 collections were designed with a clear West Coast spirit, and Gigi and I have loved fusing elements of her California lifestyle and a music festival atmosphere into the second Tommy x Gigi collection.”
The collection also will include the 14 pieces that consumers voted on as part of an interactive social media campaign in October.
And L.A.’s fashion renaissance continues.
