Shortly after 9 a.m. Feb. 1 in ICM’s Century City offices, veteran agent Toni Howard drank a Stoli martini with a twist of orange (her favorite). The occasion for the breakfast-time booze session? A celebratory party to mark her 25th anniversary at the agency.
The gathering included toasts from partners Carter Cohn and Dar Rollins, both of whom started on Howard’s desk. But the surprise visit came courtesy of Howard’s husband, David Yarnell, who recounted the most outrageous tales from Howard’s storied career, though insiders declined to elaborate on what was said.
Other highlights included the presentation of a scrapbook filled with photos (such as Howard seated at Judge Judy’s desk with Samuel L. Jackson at the bench), notes from all of her clients, from Michael Keaton to Spike Lee, and a video clip from the night she was honored with the Sue Mengers Award at last year’s Crystal + Lucy Awards presented by Women in Film. Helping soak up the Stoli were pigs in a blanket, another one of her favorites and the hors d’oeuvre Howard insists be served at every agency function.
