Sailors took the stage at the 2015 Tony Awards on Sunday in a performance from On the Town.
Nominee Tony Yazbeck and the cast took on “Lucky to Be Me,” “New York, New York,” and “Times Square Ballet” from the John Rando-directed staging of the 1944 hit, which nabbed four nominations. Yazbeck presented flowers to Anna Wintour at the beginning of his number.
Yazbeck led the way to love interest Megan Fairchild in the medley from the show about three World War II American sailors on 24-hour shore leave in New York City, looking for a quick hit of sightseeing and sex.
Hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming, the Broadway-lauding awards show also included a 10th-anniversary celebration of Jersey Boys as well as performances by the casts of Gigi, Finding Neverland, The King and I, On the Twentieth Century, Something Rotten!, The Visit, It Shoulda Been You, An American in Paris and Fun Home.
The broadcast — presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing — aired live on CBS from Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
