Theater pundits, mark your calendars.
Dates have been confirmed for the 69th Annual Tony Awards, honoring the best of the 2014-15 Broadway season. This year’s ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 7, at Radio City Music Hall, and will air live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET, with a West Coast time delay.
The opening date cutoff for eligible productions is April 23, with nominations scheduled to be announced on April 28.
Contenders getting in just under the wire this year include the musicals Doctor Zhivago and Something Rotten!, opening April 21 and 22, respectively; Lisa d’Amour‘s New Orleans-set play Airline Highway, opening April 23; and Chita Rivera in the Kander & Ebb musical The Visit, also on April 23.
The Tonys are jointly presented by trade association the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The host for the awards ceremony will be announced closer to the date.
