A Raisin in the Sun took home the award for best revival of a play at Sunday night’s Tonys.
The production beat out The Cripple of Inishmaan, The Glass Menagerie and Twelfth Night to take home the trophy at the 68th annual awards show.
The revival of the landmark drama about a black Chicago family featured Denzel Washington, Tony winner Sophie Okonedo, Anika Noni Rose and LaTanya Richardson Jackson in its April bow. Read THR‘s review here.
The Hugh Jackman-hosted Tony Awards ceremony is airing live on CBS from Radio City Music Hall in New York.
Heading into the ceremony, musical A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder topped the list with nods in 10 categories, followed by the Neil Patrick Harris-starring musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch with eight nominations.

The Zachary Quinto-Cherry Jones production of The Glass Menagerie and the Mark Rylance-Samuel Barnett staging of Twelfth Night are each nominated for seven Tonys in the play categories.
