NEW YORK – Former News Corp. top communications guru Teri Everett is the new executive vp of corporate communications at Time Warner’s Time Inc., effective March 5, the company said Tuesday.
In her role, Everett, who just ended her run at Rupert Murdoch‘s entertainment conglomerate recently, will manage all aspects of corporate communications, corporate philanthropy, government affairs and social responsibility. Everett will report to Time Inc. CEO Laura Lang.
“Teri is well-known throughout the media industry as a premier communications strategist and trusted advisor,” said Lang. “One of our priorities is to create a transparent, open dialogue about Time Inc.’s goals and strategies both within the company and to our external constituents. Teri’s honest and direct approach and strong track record make her the ideal executive to lead our communications efforts.”
At News Corp., Everett served as senior vp of corporate affairs and corporate communications. She had joined the conglomerate in 2000 as vp of corporate communications and spearheaded its Los Angeles-based communications initiatives.
She is the latest former News Corp. communications professional to be hired by Time Warner. Gary Ginsberg, who for years was a close Murdoch ally and a top communications and marketing executive at the company, joined TW a couple of years ago.
