Tori Kelly — a Grammy nominee for Best New Artist — took the stage at the Billboard Women in Music event Friday afternoon in New York City, capping an especially exciting week for the artist.
Introduced by Empire’s Jussie Smollett, Kelly accepted Billboard’s Breakthrough honor.
“This is a huge honor for me. I’m so inspired to be in a room with such powerful women. I’m super honored looking back on this year, it’s definitely been the craziest of my life,” she shared, before thanking her mom, among others.
Kelly then broke out a guitar for a moving performance of her tune, “Hollow.”
Billboard Women in Music will air on Lifetime Dec. 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
