Tracy Morgan was always gifted at making audiences laugh, but it’s now unclear whether he’ll get another chance to do so.
Attorney Benedict Morelli, who is representing Morgan in his lawsuit against Walmart, told the New York Post that the actor-comedian may never fully recover from the six-car accident that landed him in critical condition.
“The jury’s still out,” Morelli said about whether Morgan will ever perform again. “The doctors don’t know the answer. I don’t know the answer.”
Morelli explained that the 30 Rock actor’s daily rehab routine includes therapies to improve his speech and his cognitive and physical functions.

Morgan’s lawsuit alleges that Walmart was or should have been aware that truck driver Kevin Roper was fatigued after staying awake for more than 24 hours. Roper allegedly plowed into the limo carrying Morgan and several others June 7. Comedian James McNair, who was in the limo with Morgan, died as a result of the collision.
In response to Walmart claiming in court Monday that Morgan’s injuries were at least partly due to the actor not wearing a seatbelt, Morgan said in a statement: “I can’t believe Walmart is blaming me for an accident that they caused.”
