They might not be a huge band in the U.S., but in their native U.K. Kasabian last year headlined Glastonbury Festival, alongside being named ‘Best Act in the World Today’. The indie-rockers are about to add to their resumes, following the news that they’re to open the 2015 BAFTA awards on Feb. 8.
In an announcement made Thursday, BAFTA revealed that the band would be performing at the ceremony’s opening, following in the footsteps of Tom Jones, Tinie Tempah and Paloma Faith.

“As massive fans of British cinema it is a great honor to open the BAFTAs and celebrate the achievements in film over the last 12 months.”
On Wednesday is was revealed that U.K. singer Rita Ora would be performing at the Oscars.
