LONDON – The U.K.’s BriteSpark Films has teamed with Canada’s Saloon Media for its first international commission Handsome Devils, set for Investigation Discovery in the U.S. and Slice in Canada.
The show will detail America’s most notorious lady-killers, men who charm, lure and entrap their women before conning them out of everything they own or killing them in cold blood.
The cases are examined using a mixture of dramatization and first-person testimony.
BriteSpark Films is Argonon’s first joint venture launched in January 2013 and marries the former Cineflix head of documentaries Nick Godwin’s international co-production experience with growing international indie umbrella company Argonon.
The 10 x 60 minute docu-drama series marks the first commission for start-up factual production banner Saloon Media and was developed and will be executive produced by BriteSpark creative director Godwin (U.K.) and Saloon Media’s Michael Kot (Canada).
It is set to air in 2014.
Godwin said he is “delighted that Investigation Discovery and Slice have ordered Handsome Devils, which marks BriteSpark Films’ first commission since launching earlier this year.”
Kot added: “I’m thrilled that our first co-production is with Nick Godwin. We’ve had very successful collaborations in the past when we were with other companies; he knows quality and he knows what succeeds.”
