USA Network is expanding the role for one of its marketing and digital executives.
The cable network has promoted Alexandra Shapiro to executive vice president of marketing and digital, adding creative insight to her responsibilities, which includes consumer and strategic marketing, digital, brand initiatives, promotions and business development.
She will take over all marketing responsibilities from USA co-president Chris McCumber, who runs the network with Jeff Wachtel.
“Alexandra is a true marketing innovator who brings a wealth of creativity and savvy to the role,” said McCumber, to whom Shapiro will continue to report. “Her dynamic vision for USA makes her the perfect executive to evolve our brand as the network continues to grow.”?
Shapiro was most recently senior vice president for the network. She joined USA more than a decade ago as vice president of consumer and affiliate marketing.
She has assisted in successfully launching series such as Monk, Suits, Necessary Roughness, White Collar, Burn Notice, Royal Pains and the upcoming Greg Berlanti drama Political Animals. Shapiro was also an integral part in creating the network’s “Characters Welcome” multiplatform brand, as well as initiatives like Characters Unite and Character Project, and overseeing USA’s digital and social TV expansion.
