Richard Linklater’s Boyhood was named best film at the Vancouver Film Critics Circle Awards on Monday night.
Boyhood also earned Patricia Arquette the best supporting actress crown. The coming-of-age odyssey continues to build awards season momentum after being named the best picture of the year by the L.A. Film Critics Association, New York Film Critics Circle, New York Film Critics Online and the San Francisco Film Critics Circle.

Birdman‘s Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu beat out Linklater to win the best director prize in Vancouver, while Wes Anderson snagged the best screenplay prize for The Grand Budapest Hotel. In other acting categories, Nightcrawler’s Jake Gyllenhaal won for best actor, Only Lovers Left Alive star Tilda Swinton earned the best actress honors, and Whiplash’s J.K. Simmons was named best supporting actor.
Jesse Moss’ The Overnighters was named best documentary, while Ruben Ostlund‘s Force Majeure was selected best foreign language film.
