A Guide to All 18 Brand Collaborations From Vetements’ Spring Show

With the help of 18 collaborators, Vetements kicked off Paris Couture Week on Sunday afternoon by showing its spring 2017 collection at the Galeries Lafayette department store.

The buzziest brand in fashion lived up to its streetwear couture reputation by collaborating with both high and low brands — from Hanes and Champion to Manolo Blahnik and Brioni — that specialize in a specific product.  

Demna Gvasalia, who co-founded the brand with his brother Guram, told The Cut‘s Cathy Horyn of the collaborative concept for this season’s show: “The idea was always to take the iconic, the most recognizable product from their brand, and put it into a Vetements frame, whether in terms of shape or construction.”

Alpha Industries: Founded in Knoxville, Tenn. as a contractor to the U.S. military, Alpha Industries is best known for its classic bomber jackets.

Carhartt: A Michigan-based workwear company best known for its coveralls, shirts and jeans.

Champion: A subsidiary of Hanes, Champion is an American sportswear manufacturer.

Comme des Garcons: A Japanese luxury label by designer Rei Kawakubo that is known for extravagant couture creations.

Dr. Martens: Originally founded in Germany, Dr. Martens is now a U.K.-based footwear company whose leather boots — with their iconic yellow stitching and chunky rubber soles — were especially popular during the punk movement.

Juicy Couture: A L.A.-based apparel company, founded in 1997, that is best known for its rhinestone-encrusted velour tracksuits.
