Victoria Beckham brought her latest collection to London, with an intimate afternoon presentation (but no ripped jeans or trainers, please, noted the invite) after unveiling the downtown-meets-cowgirl line at New York Fashion Week.
The ultimate Brit will be making her first appearance on the London Fashion Week calendar next season to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the brand. While her debut will surely be the most hotly anticipated show of the week, she doesn’t know if she will be a permanent fixture on the schedule.
“It will be nice to come home to celebrate. I’m from London, my family lives in London, and I’ve never shown here so it will be really fun to do something different,” she told Pret-a-Reporter. “I think there’s a good energy in London. I’m very proud to be British.”
It could be a “one-off” she said, or she could move locations season to season. “Everybody seems to be breaking the rules and doing their own thing, and I’m going to see what happens and be open-minded.”
She’s about to start scouting for a show venue and promises “lots of surprises” during the year as she builds up to September.
One thing it won’t be is a Spice Girls tour or new album, disappointing fans around the globe.
“For us, Girl Power is a strong powerful message. We want to protect the legacy and how do we pass that message on to future generations? We never said that was about touring or about creating new music, or even about the five of us together. I love spending time with the girls and we all feel the same about passing that positive message on. Never has it been more relevant and needed than now,” she said.

The busy mum says there is no way she could tour, work on her brand and take care of her brood. “It’s not possible to go on tour and do that, I’ll tell you that much,” she said. Afer adding pre-fall she has four categories for the VVB line. “When you are a working mum my schedule has to be really looked after to make sure I can spin all these plates.”
Her secret weapon is accessories it seems. Beckham poked fun at her reputation for shades, debuting a T-shirt with the tongue-in-cheek slogan “It’s A Dark But Happy Place” based on the perfect white shirt that she says she wears almost every day.
As for her signature dark sunnies? “I’m normally up three times a night with the kids, and sunglasses hide a multitude of sins,” she said.
