The annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned to New York City after a year across the pond, and made sure to celebrate the female form with girl-power anthems and romantic pop tracks — amidst confetti, snow and show-stopping lingerie (like Lily Aldridge’s $2 million Mouwad bra), of course.
The show — filmed at the 69th Regiment Armory in Manhattan on a rainy Nov. 10 and hit up by Adrian Grenier, Darren Criss, Nick Cannon, Patina Miller, Kellan Lutz, Shane West, Austin Mahone, Andre Holland, Tyga, Tyson Beckford, Questlove, Dylan Penn and Ireland Baldwin — kicked off with a mash-up featuring a cover of Pat Benatar’s classic “Heartbreaker.” The “boho psychedelic” scene also marked Kendall Jenner’s show debut, as she wore a pink corset with a partial blue-patterned skirt flowing behind her.
BESTIES: Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner
Gigi Hadid also walked the VS runway for the first time, to Ellie Goulding performing friendship-celebration track “Army” during a segment decorated with blue-hued butterflies and branches. Then, The Weeknd lit up a gothic setting of iron fences and broken windows with his sexy track, “In the Night.”
Selena Gomez took to the runway with leather-dressed dancers for a bit of her sultry “Hands to Myself” before launching into the fun and upbeat “Me & My Girls,” an apt pick for the patriotic “Pink U.S.A.” section of sweaters, smiles and Brian Atwood’s star-spangled stilettos. Goulding warmed up a wintry scene by performing her Fifty Shades of Grey ballad “Love Me Like You Do,” as snow fell to white lace looks and fur-covered boots.
SO COOL: Candice Swanepoel and Ellie Goulding
After The Weeknd reprised his flirty summer hit “Can’t Feel My Face” for the boardwalk-themed “Fireworks” segment — complete with costume pieces featuring twirled feathers, faux explosives and light-up angel wings — the show closed with the upbeat “Electric Love” by BORNS.
