Buckle, who keeps an assortment of YSL matte lipsticks on hand at all times ("We've used every single one of them"), says he and Campora deserve only partial credit for the rave results: "It really takes a special person to bring a look to life. Jessica's not just a pretty starlet who doesn't have the rest to back it up."

“I don’t like the red carpet,” Chastain admits during her cover shoot with makeup maven Kristofer Buckle and hair guru Renato Campora for The Hollywood Reporter‘s Beauty Issue. “I find it kind of uncomfortable, but when I work with Kris and Renato, they do their magic and I feel like a different character.”
Indeed they do, as they’ve worked on countless occasions together to create some major red-carpet moments for the Interstellar star.
“Often times, there’s no mirror in sight and where she’s done, I’m like, ‘Would you like to look?’ ” says Buckle, noting that Chastain places a strong amount of trust on her glam squad. The Golden Globe winner is quick to point out, though, “We do talk before so it’s not like I look in the mirror and it’s something crazy. They definitely — which I love about them — include me and my personality in their work. I completely trust them.”
But not everyone can always pull off glamour with grace — that is, unless it’s Chastain. “She really lives the looks she’s wearing,” Buckle says of the actress. “There’s a lot of people that you can dress up and doll up and put them out there, but it will takes a special someone to bring it to life.”
