Distrify, the direct-to-audience video-on-demand service and online social cinema marketing banner, is partnering with film discovery start-up Tank Top Movies, a film website launched by Tank Top TV.
Both companies share a common aim to bring legal online streaming to viewers but represent different ends of the market. Tank Top Movies currently offers more than 13,000 films and information on where they can be viewed across 19 different legal on-demand U.K. outlets including Sky, NowTV, LoveFilm and ITunes.
Distrify head of marketing partnerships Kobi Shely and Tank Top TV co-founder Ian Unsworth see the partnership deal as being able to extend the reach of both companies “to the benefit of both filmmakers and viewers.”
Shely said: “As filmmakers increase their presence online, they will want to make sure their movies are getting discovered, and Tank Top Movies is doing just this, in fun and compelling ways. Distrify is committed to giving our filmmaker community global exposure and the best technology tools. Unsworth said adding Distrify to Tank Top Movies will offer people “an even broader range of exciting independent titles as part of our catalog of over 13,000 films.”
He added: “With these new titles from Distrify on board, our users will have access to even more great content, with the added convenience of Distrify’s online player.”
