Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye performed “Earned It” at the 88th annual Academy Awards on Sunday evening.
The Canadian musician, whose Fifty Shades of Grey song was in contention for the best original song Oscar, was introduced to the stage by comedian Kevin Hart.
The Weeknd donned a black and white tux as violinists played strings to “Earned It” and multiple dancers, wearing lingerie-type costumes, encircled the singer, together performing a risque number. The stage was darkened and decorated with candles and chandeliers.
“Earned It” was Tesfaye’s first Oscar nomination.
The Chris Rock-hosted awards are being held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
