More evidence that the Off-White (fashion) world takeover is nigh: Virgil Abloh’s cult-favorite brand just dropped an affordable capsule collection of tees ($95) and sweatshirts ($170) at its 11 stores worldwide.
The unisex line, available now, is labeled “For All,” and each of the eight pieces features the brand’s black-and-white diagonal logo and Abloh’s signature quotation marks. Though $170 may seem a bit steep for a sweatshirt, the price is much more accessible than the brand’s typical $800 sweatshirt.
“The price tier allows for a new customer to see themselves within the overall concept of the fashion label,” Abloh told Business of Fashion, adding that a brand limiting itself to just one price point in this day and age is “old-fashioned.”
The benevolent Abloh has, on multiple occasions, worked to democratize his brand by collaborating with the likes of Warby Parker, Nike and even Ikea on products that even the budget-conscious hypebeast can afford. Some in the industry have questioned how many collaborations is too many before consumer fatigue hits, but Abloh has yet to discover that answer.
Off-White will debut its fall 2018 collection in Paris this March. According to Abloh’s Instagram, we can expect some Weezer on the soundtrack. Can’t wait.
