When it came time to choose a key element for A Star Is Born, Bradley Cooper found the answer right in his own home.
His dog, Charlie, made his big-screen debut opposite Cooper and Lady Gaga. It was no easy assignment for the pooch, considering that it carries some of the weight in one of the most emotional sequences.
“That bond with Bradley is natural and can’t be duplicated,” says a Warner Bros. source of the acting newbie.
A Star Is Born wasn’t the only contender in Toronto with a canine in its cast. Alfonso Cuaron’s Roma also featured a four-legged scene-stealer. The director told the TIFF audience that the dog reminded him of his childhood pet.
