The Internet is ablaze with photos of Kate Moss on Playboy’s 60th Anniversary issue cover, the photos of which were officially released this week. Though the gentlemen’s magazine built its empire on the backs (fronts?) of buxom, all-American types, lately it has gone the highbrow route, holding culture-minded cocktail parties at Chateau Marmont, art exhibitions in Marfa, Texas, and now featuring fashion world posers who seem to have their, uh, original parts.
At 39, Moss has mastered the art of topless modeling during her long tenure in front of the camera and looks retro-chic in her black-and-white bunny suit, as if she stepped out of Chicago’s Playboy Club circa 1961. We doubt you want to replicate her exact cover look now that Halloween has come and gone. But one piece of the ensemble that’s worth noticing is Moss’ pair of black patent leather Saint Laurent pumps that feature a sky-high stiletto heel and none of the stacked toe platform that’s become a staple of Real Housewives across the land.
They’re classic, modern and sophisticatedly sexy all at once — kind of like a progressive gentlemen’s magazine that’s celebrating a birthday right now, as well as a certain supermodel we know who never fails to be at the top of her game.
