Zodiak Americas is getting into business with unscripted producers Cleve Keller and Dave Noll through a new deal with Keller/Noll, the company behind Chopped. Additionally, Mike Gamson has been promoted to CEO of Zodiak New York.
Under the pact, Keller and Noll will create new formats to be co-produced with Zodiak in the U.S. and internationally by Zodiak Rights and move to Zodiak’s New York office. Through the deal, Keller/Noll will receive development funding and access to development teams worldwide.
“Together, Dave and I have been able to work with some bona fide industry legends,” said Keller. “We are thrilled to now add to that list people like Grant Ross, Zodiak Media’s newly appointed executive vp of creative development and format acquisition, and Mike Gamson, who was instrumental in our decision to partner with Zodiak.”
Added Jonny Slow, Zodiak Americas CEO: “We are delighted to be building the next phase of Zodiak New York with Cleve and Dave onboard and to be announcing Mike as CEO of our production business on the East Coast. We are very excited about the possibilities in the years ahead for Zodiak’s unscripted business in the U.S., which now incorporates five development teams built over the last 18 months in New York and Los Angeles.”
Keller and Noll were previously chief development officer and chief creative officer at Shine America’s Ardaban, where they created original formats such as HGTV’s Beat the House and TLC’s The One That Got Away. They also worked at IAC’s Notional, where Noll was president of television and Keller was senior vp development.
Their credits include the Chopped franchise, Winsanity, Lovesong, You vs. Momentum, Your Momma Don’t Dance, Cover Shot, Rocco’s Dinner Party and No Kitchen Required.
Gamson was previously chief creative officer at Zodiak Americas, a post he held since January 2013.
The news comes after Zodiak appointed Joel Karsberg and Cem Yeter as co-chief creative officers of Zodiak Americas.
