Zodiak Americas has promoted Mike Gamson to chief creative officer and Sheila Cabano to chief operating officer.
Gamson and Cabano will oversee Zodiak’s New York office, building on character-based reality programming with East Coast networks. They will be expanding the development and production teams. Both will report to Zodiak Americas CEO Jonathan Slow.
“Mike and Sheila have the ultimate combo – a solid track record with their network partners and a close-knit team with a distinct voice,” said Slow. “By putting more development resource into the New York office and giving them complete creative autonomy, they’ll be able to build on their existing slate of programming and continue bringing viewers compelling series with the best reality talent.”
Current Zodiak programming includes truTV’s highest-rated shows, Hardcore Pawn and Lizard Lick Towing.
Gamson joined Zodiak (formerly RDF) in 2002 and was previously svp and executive producer. He supervised the launch of Wife Swap for ABC and he is an EP on Pawn and Lizard.
Cabano, previously svp production, joined the company seven years ago, overseeing production on all East Coast projects, including Swap, Pawn, Lizard, All Worked Up, The Detonators, Arctic Roughnecks and several pilots.
Their promotions come on the heels of Stefanie Gelinas‘s hire as svp. Zodiak plans to double profits of its Americas division by the end of 2014.
