George Clooney's 'Suburbicon' Adds 'Night Manager,' 'Night Of' Actors (Exclusive)
Noah Jupe and Glenn Fleshler are boarding the drama starring Matt Damon and Julianne Moore.
In a major coup for a young actor, Noah Jupe will co-star opposite Matt Damon and Julianne Moore in Suburbicon, the black comedy being directed by George Clooney.
Also joining the cast is Glenn Fleshler, fresh off his appearance on HBO’s acclaimed The Night Of crime drama.
Paramount is distributing the period project, which is being financed by Black Bear Pictures.
Based on a script by Ethan and Joel Coen, Suburbicon tells of a father (Damon) who hatches a plan to kill his wife in order to be with the woman’s sister (Moore), with whom he’s having an affair. Unfortunately, his 8-year-old son catches on and turns the whole plan upside down.
Jupe will play the son, who tries to tell others of his father’s deeds, while Fleshler will play a hitman.
The project has already recruited Oscar Isaac as an insurance investigator, Woody Harrelson as the boy’s uncle and Josh Brolin as the boy’s Little League coach.
An October start in Los Angeles is being eyed. Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smokehouse Pictures and Joel Silver’s Silver Pictures are producing.
An actor with a full dance card, Jupe is currently shooting Wonder, Lionsgate’s adaptation of the R.J. Palacio YA novel with Julia Roberts and Jacob Tremblay. He was recently seen on BBC’s Night Manager opposite Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie, and also will star with Sam Worthington and Tom Wilkinson in sci-fi film The Titan.
Clearly drawn to dark material, Fleshler may be best known for his key role as the Yellow King in season one of True Detective. He has also done stints on Boardwalk Empire, Hannibal and Billions and is due to be a regular in HBO's upcoming Bill Hader series Barry.
Jupe is repped by Grandview, Shepherd Management and attorneys Dan Fox and Steve Warren. Fleshler is repped by Gersh and Suskin Management.
