"You've found your Freedom, your Faith. It was your Last Christmas, and we shall miss you."

Singer-songwriter George Michael died at home of heart failure, his manager confirmed Sunday.

According to his longtime manager Michael Lippman, the English singer, songwriter and record producer who rose to fame with the group Wham! in the 1980s was found on Christmas morning.

"We join millions of fans in mourning the untimely passing of this towering talent. He was the epitome of the consummate pop star, a singer/songwriter who enthralled the world, always keeping us guessing where his music would take us next," said Jon Platt, CEO of his publisher Warner/Chappell Music, in a statement Sunday. "His music will entertain, move, comfort and inspire people for generations to come. We will miss you. Rest In Peace, George."

Many others, from Elton John and Paul McCartney to Boy George, took to social media to post their reactions and memories of the star.

"I am in deep shock. I have lost a beloved friend - the kindest, most generous soul and a brilliant artist," posted John early Monday morning.

"George Michael's sweet soul music will live on even after his sudden death," posted McCartney on Twitter. "Having worked with him on a number of occasions his great talent always shone through and his self-deprecating sense of humour made the experience even more pleasurable."

In a statement posted via his Twitter account, Boy George said: "I am thinking of @GeorgeMichael's family, friends and fans right now. He was so loved and I hope he knew it because the sadness today is beyond words. Devastating. What a beautiful voice he had and his music will live on as a testament to his talent. I can't believe he is gone. I hope the Buddha will hold him in his arms. NMRK."

Madonna took to Twitter late Sunday night to say, "farewell my friend" and ask if 2016 can "f— off now" after saying, "another great artist leaves us."
