George Will, the longtime Washington Post columnist who famously left the Republican party last year over the GOP's endorsement of Donald Trump, has joined NBC News and MSNBC as a contributor.
Will, a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer who had a three-decade association with ABC News, never made any secret of his antipathy toward Trump during the campaign.
But when Trump insulted a judge of Mexican descent who was overseeing a lawsuit against Trump University, it was the last straw for Will. Trump used a favorite insult for Will at the time, calling him an "overrated political pundit."
Will did a short stint on Fox News, where he mostly appeared on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, but his contract wasn't renewed earlier this year.
In the past few months, he's been appearing with some regularity as a guest on MSNBC. The contract formalizes the arrangement.
