Scott's Family Resort, a 1,000-acre property in the Catskills that was featured in season two of 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,' hadn't been sold in its 150-year history.

The picturesque Catskills resort that served as a family getaway for the second season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been bought by familiar names in the Hollywood legal community  — marking the first purchase of the property since its 1869 opening.

Geragos Global, an investor in business, real estate and recreation founded by attorney Mark Geragos, on Friday bought Scott's Family Resort at Oquaga Lake, a 1,000-acre property about 30 miles outside of Binghamton, New York. The purchase price has not been publicly disclosed.

Geragos Global principals Tina Glandian and Ben Meiselas tell The Hollywood Reporter they moved at warp speed to close the deal because they were intrigued by its 150-year history and potential of the "rare and stunning" lakeside property. “We just completed a $15 million renovation and repositioning of the V Hotel in Palm Springs and first-of-its-kind hotel partnership with Silicon Valley work/live start-up Sonder and we were looking for an exciting and challenging new project," the duo tells THR. "This is exactly the kind of once in a generation opportunity right in our sweet spot.”

The upstate resort is a short drive from New York City, Philadelphia and Toronto, and the new owners plan to transform it into a year-round destination for adults and families. They're already planning a renovation of the 18-hole golf course in partnership with a professional golf celebrity, and have plans for waterfront cottages to take advantage of 2,000 feet of unobstructed lake views.

Six generations of the Scott family operated the resort before they sold the property to Geragos Global, which also owns Capri Hotel in Southampton, New York, and Casa Tropicana in San Clemente, California. Entertainment clients of the Geragos & Geragos law firm include former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who signed a first-look deal with Disney this summer. On the litigation side, Geragos and Glandian have repped the likes of Chris Brown, Jussie Smollett and Kesha Rose Sebert. And, on top of his legal work, Meiselas last year started a progressive SuperPAC with his brothers, MeidasTouch, that has spawned a SiriusXM podcast and has plans for future media ventures.

Zach Baraf of Triplet Acquisitions represented Geragos Global in the transaction.
