Germany's DSF inks Bundesliga deals

Pacts will boost international sales revenue 40%

COLOGNE, Germany -- DSF Sport Enterprises, the international sales arm of Germany's Bundesliga soccer league, has signed a pair of multiterritory deals with Lagardere-controlled Sportfive and the Munich-based Sportsman media group for international rights to the 2009-2011 seasons.

Sportfive will take Bundesliga rights in Belgium, France, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands and Portugal, while Sportsman will handle Greece, Israel, Turkey and several smaller European and Asian territories.

DSF Sport said that the deals, which represent 22 territories, will mean a 40% boost in international sales revenue compared with current agreements. By selling international rights on a territory-by-territory basis, the German league hopes to bring its international revenue more in line with richer leagues in England, Spain and Italy.
