Get a Closer Look at the Costumes of Tim Burton's Films This Friday at LACMA
Oscar winning and legendary costumer Colleen Atwood will be part of Behind the Scenes: Bringing Burton's World to Life this Friday October 21 at 7:30 at LACMA
When the L.A. County Museum holds a Tim Burton seminar this Friday night, October 21 at 7:30, fashion and costume lovers might want to drop by: longtime Burton collaborator Colleen Atwood will be speaking along with Burton's composer of three decades, Danny Elfman, and his art and production designer Rick Heinrichs.
A screening of Edward Scissorhands will follow, in the Bing Theater -- a film Atwood did the incredible costumes for, as well as The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd, the upcoming Dark Shadows -- and Atwood won an Oscar last year for her costumes for Alice in Wonderland, which Cate Blanchett presented to her.
Atwood also designed the current Rum Diary and also The Tourist -- so it's clear she's developed a relationship with Johnny Depp as well. She's certainly considered one of the premier costume designers working today, and anyone with an interest in costume should check this out.
The price is ten dollars for general admission; you can purchase online (lacma.org), or call 323 857 6010.
