The 'Dope' breakout will voice the title hero in Sony’s animated Spider-Man film.

Shameik Moore has signed with CAA, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. He was previously with ICM Partners.

Moore broke out as the 1990s hip-hop-loving blerd at the center of Rick Famuyiwa’s 2015 Sundance darling Dope, then rewound his musical references to play Shaolin Fantastic in Baz Luhrmann’s 1970s Bronx-set drama The Get Down, whose second batch of episodes dropped on Netflix on April 7.

He creates music in real life, too: single “Ride the Beat” will be released May 4 in advance of a mixtape, Worth the Risk.

A member of THR’s 2016 Next Gen Talent class, Moore will voice the hero in Sony Pictures Animation’s untitled Spider-Man movie, which features Miles Morales as the web-slinger. He’ll also star alongside Jack Kilmer and Jane Levy in a love triangle in James Franco’s The Pretenders, written by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars).

Moore continues to be repped by Three Six Zero Management and McKuin Frankel.
